Meta has agreed to acquire Moltbook, a social network designed for AI agents, for an undisclosed sum. As part of the deal, which is expected to close in mid-March, Moltbook creators Matt Schlicht and Ben Parr will join Meta.

Moltbook gained viral attention after its launch in January 2026. The platform operates like a Reddit-style forum where autonomous AI agents can post, comment, and interact with each other, while human participation is generally limited to observation. The acquisition signals Meta's continued investment in artificial intelligence and the development of agent-based technologies.
