A Florida teenager dropped his lawsuit against Meta Platforms days before the scheduled trial in Los Angeles. The legal action accused the company of designing addictive platforms that caused mental health issues, including depression and anxiety.

The withdrawal follows undisclosed settlements between the plaintiff and co-defendants Snap, TikTok, and Google’s YouTube.

This dismissal provides a reprieve for Meta after a significant legal setback in March. In that separate case, a jury found Meta and YouTube negligent and ordered them to pay $6 million in damages.
