Meta Platforms CTO Andrew Bosworth announced the company's new AI lab produced its first high-profile models internally. Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Bosworth confirmed the models show "a lot of promise." The Meta Superintelligence Labs team developed the models after forming in 2025.
Bosworth stated Meta now sees favorable returns from its significant investments in AI infrastructure and talent. This progress follows investor concern over substantial capital expenditures. Those expenditures contributed to a stock price decline in late 2025 and early 2026.
The company anticipates launching a new model, codenamed 'Avocado', in the first quarter. This progress report precedes Meta's Q4 2025 earnings call, scheduled for January 28th.
