Jim Simons' influential quantitative hedge fund, Renaissance Technologies, has liquidated its entire position in financial services giant Morgan Stanley (MS). The firm sold all 674,110 shares it held, a stake previously valued at approximately $110.94 million. This complete exit removes what had constituted a 0.17% slice of the fund's extensive, multi-billion dollar portfolio.

The trade was disclosed in the firm's quarterly 13F filing with the SEC, which details holdings as of June 30, 2026. Because these reports are released with a delay, the sale occurred sometime during the second quarter, between April 1 and the end of June. This reporting lag means the disclosure is a historical snapshot and not indicative of a same-day transaction.
