Microsoft confirmed on February 12, 2026, that the Saudi Arabia East datacenter region will launch in the fourth quarter of 2026. This investment supports the digital transformation and AI goals of the Saudi Vision 2030 plan.
The facility allows local organizations to run cloud and AI workloads from an in-country site. This infrastructure addresses specific data residency and compliance requirements.
The site joins Microsoft’s global network of over 70 Azure regions. Microsoft collaborates with the Public Investment Fund (PIF) to shift the Kingdom toward production-ready AI solutions.
