Microsoft confirmed a critical reboot loop issue affecting Windows Server 2025 domain controllers on April 17, 2026.
The failure occurs after installing the April 2026 cumulative update, KB5082063. This update also triggers unexpected BitLocker recovery prompts on certain systems.
Microsoft has not yet released an out-of-band patch to resolve the resulting network service disruptions. The company is currently monitoring diagnostic data to develop a formal fix.
Administrators are advised to pause KB5082063 deployment on critical infrastructure to prevent potential system failures.
