Microsoft announced plans to construct a new $400 million data center in Medina County, Texas. This investment further expands the company’s significant presence in the San Antonio area.
The one-story facility spans 195,670 square feet. Microsoft expects to complete the project by July 2028.
This construction is part of a broader strategy, as the tech giant has already acquired over 1,000 acres in the region for a growing data center hub.
The investment scales Microsoft's cloud and AI infrastructure to meet rising demand. The company selected the location due to its access to power, fiber infrastructure, and suitable topography.
This expansion aligns with efforts by other major tech companies building data center capacity to power the growth of artificial intelligence and cloud-based services.
