Microsoft increased prices across its Surface PC lineup. The flagship Surface Laptop 7 and Surface Pro 11 now cost $500 more than their initial 2024 launch prices. Starting prices for these flagship models rose to $1,500. Midrange devices now begin at over $1,000.

The company attributed the hike to surging costs for memory and other components. A global RAM shortage, fueled by high demand for AI hardware, is driving the price increases. Industry peers including Dell and Asus have also raised prices in response to the shortage.
