Microsoft security chief Hayete Gallot is replacing several senior executives within the company’s cybersecurity division. Gallot assumed the leadership role in February 2026.
The restructuring refocuses the unit on artificial intelligence to address corporate concerns regarding AI-powered cyberattacks. Microsoft is directing more teams to develop AI security products while cutting back on traditional offerings.
The company is also consolidating engineering teams as part of the strategic shift. This overhaul follows Gallot’s appointment as the successor to former security head Charlie Bell, who transitioned to a new role focused on engineering quality.
