Microsoft restricted employees from using Anthropic’s Claude Fable 5 AI model. The restriction follows Anthropic’s implementation of a mandatory 30-day data retention policy for safety and abuse monitoring.
This policy applies to all user traffic on Anthropic’s most powerful models. The change marks a shift from previous zero-data-retention agreements used by enterprise clients to protect proprietary information.
Anthropic confirmed it will not use the retained data to train its models. Microsoft’s internal block remains in place pending a formal legal review.
