Microsoft is rolling out its new Copilot Cowork tool to customers in its Frontier early-access program. The feature is designed to automate and execute complex, multi-step workflows across Microsoft 365 applications, moving beyond single-prompt-and-response interactions. The system is built in collaboration with AI firm Anthropic and is based on its Cowork technology.
A key part of the update is a new "Critique" feature within Copilot's Researcher tool which utilizes models from both OpenAI and Anthropic. In this dual-model system, one AI generates a response which the other then reviews for accuracy and quality before it is presented to the user. Microsoft stated this approach has led to significant improvements in the quality of research outputs.
