Microsoft will invest approximately $10 billion in Japan through 2029. This capital will expand data centers and artificial intelligence infrastructure to meet rising demand for data sovereignty. The initiative ensures data processing remains within the country.

Microsoft is partnering with SoftBank Group and Sakura Internet to build domestic AI infrastructure. These systems will connect directly to the Azure cloud platform. Facilities in eastern and western Japan will receive upgrades including advanced AI chips and hardware.

The company plans to train 1 million developers by 2030. Microsoft will also enhance cybersecurity cooperation with Japanese government agencies.
