Mistral AI secured $830 million in its first-ever debt financing deal. A consortium of seven banks, including BNP Paribas and HSBC, provided the capital. The startup will use the funds to build a large-scale data center near Paris.

The facility in Bruyères-le-Châtel will house 13,800 Nvidia GPUs. Mistral expects the site to be operational by the second quarter of 2026.

The project supports a goal to reach 200 megawatts of European computing capacity. Mistral aims to achieve this target by 2027. Proprietary infrastructure will reduce the company's dependence on third-party cloud providers. This strategy seeks to bolster European technological sovereignty in the artificial intelligence sector.
