Elon Musk’s SpaceXAI released Grok 4.5, marking the first major product launch since rebranding the firm from xAI. The company developed the model in partnership with Cursor as part of a planned $60 billion acquisition of the startup.

Grok 4.5 features a 1.5 trillion-parameter foundation. Engineers trained the model using Cursor data to enhance its performance in specialized fields such as law, finance, and software engineering. The software is designed to manage complex, long-running professional tasks.

Musk positioned the release as an Opus-class model to compete with Anthropic’s Claude Opus. He claims the new model is faster and more cost-effective than existing enterprise solutions from OpenAI and Google.
