Netflix and Sony Pictures Entertainment have expanded their partnership with a new multi-year, exclusive global agreement. This deal makes Netflix the sole worldwide streaming destination for Sony's feature films after their theatrical and home entertainment windows.
The global rollout will begin gradually in late 2026. The agreement is expected to be fully in place by early 2029.
The agreement secures a future pipeline of highly anticipated movies for Netflix subscribers. These titles include "Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse," the live-action "The Legend of Zelda," and four upcoming films about The Beatles from director Sam Mendes.
This strategic move bolsters Netflix's film library. The company continues to pursue a separate, much larger acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery's studio and streaming assets.
