Kinder Morgan reported a $9.6 billion project backlog to expand natural gas infrastructure. Natural gas projects comprise 92% of the total backlog. Over 60% of these projects support power plants and utilities, specifically to meet data center energy needs. Rising demand from LNG exports and industrial customers also fuels this expansion.

The company achieved record second-quarter financial results, exceeding earnings expectations and raising full-year guidance. Kinder Morgan placed $660 million worth of projects into service during the second quarter. Management expects to sanction over $1 billion in additional projects during the second half of 2026.
