German utility Uniper signed a Letter of Interest to purchase two million tonnes of liquefied natural gas annually from the Ksi Lisims LNG project. This marks the second preliminary agreement with a German firm in recent weeks.

The agreement outlines commercial terms for a future 20-year Sale and Purchase Agreement. Deliveries from the British Columbia facility could begin as early as 2032.

The 12-mtpa floating export facility is a partnership between the Nisga'a Nation, Rockies LNG, and Western LNG. The project will use renewable hydroelectric power to minimize carbon emissions.

This deal follows previous offtake agreements with Shell, TotalEnergies, and SEFE. The project must still reach a final investment decision before proceeding.
