Nokia introduced a new suite of optical networking innovations to manage surging AI and data center traffic. The launch includes coherent transport solutions and a compact in-line amplifier. These products aim to reduce the total cost of ownership by up to 70%.
The hardware supports capacities ranging from 1.6 to 3.2 terabits. Applications span from local campus networks to international submarine deployments. Nokia leadership will showcase these technologies at the upcoming OFC conference in Los Angeles.
The new in-line amplifier is expected to arrive in the second half of 2026. Sampling for the coherent optical solutions is slated for mid-2027.
