NVIDIA is partnering with the Japanese government and the Noetra Corp consortium to build a national AI infrastructure for physical AI and robotics. This project is part of Japan's government-backed FRONTia initiative.
The planned AI factory will utilize 13,750 NVIDIA Vera CPUs. The facility will also feature 27,500 next-generation Rubin GPUs. This infrastructure will provide 140 megawatts of data center capacity.
Noetra Corp includes major Japanese industry leaders such as SoftBank, Sony, NEC, and Honda. The consortium will develop open multimodal foundation models for AI agents, digital twins, and industrial robotics to bolster Japan's global market position.
