The French competition authority is concluding its investigation into NVIDIA’s alleged anti-competitive practices. The probe began following a raid on the company’s French offices in September 2023.

Regulators are focusing on NVIDIA’s dominant position within the artificial intelligence chip market. General rapporteur Umberto Berkani confirmed the investigation is ending but did not provide a specific decision date.

The conclusion of the probe may lead to formal charges against the chipmaker. A ruling against NVIDIA could result in fines of up to 10% of its global annual turnover.

This decision will set a regulatory precedent for AI chip companies operating across Europe.
