Elon Musk said xAI plans to more than double the number of NVIDIA chips in its Colossus 2 AI computing cluster by the end of the year. The expansion will add hundreds of thousands of NVIDIA GB300 processors.
The first batch of 220,000 processors is expected to be operational as soon as next week. Further additions are planned for November and December.
The expansion highlights continued demand for NVIDIA’s AI infrastructure from major players in the artificial intelligence race. NVIDIA shares rose approximately 1% in early trading on Friday. The plan reinforces investor confidence in sustained growth in NVIDIA’s data center revenue.
