Binance has filed a defamation lawsuit against Dow Jones & Company, the publisher of The Wall Street Journal, in New York's Southern District court. The suit alleges that a February 23 article contained multiple false and defamatory statements regarding Binance's handling of transactions linked to sanctioned Iranian entities.

The WSJ article in question claimed that Binance staff were fired after flagging $1 billion in transactions tied to Iran. Binance asserts that it provided corrections to the WSJ before publication which were ignored and that the story has caused significant reputational and business damage, leading to government inquiries. The lawsuit seeks compensatory and punitive damages.
