News Corp has announced a partnership with startup Symbolic.ai to integrate its AI-native publishing platform into its newsrooms. The collaboration aims to use artificial intelligence to assist journalists with research, writing, and the overall publishing process, helping to streamline routine tasks such as transcription, document analysis, and fact-checking.
The initial deployment of Symbolic.ai's platform will be at Dow Jones Newswires, which publishes The Wall Street Journal and Barron's, among other titles. Following the initial phase, all newsrooms under the News Corp umbrella will have the option to adopt the technology. Symbolic.ai was co-founded by former eBay CEO Devin Wenig and Ars Technica co-founder Jon Stokes.
