A February 16, 2026, report by the Global Network on Extremism and Technology (GNET) finds Pinterest continues to host Islamic State (IS) propaganda. This follows an October 2025 warning from Ireland’s media commission, Coimisiún na Meán.
The commission gave Pinterest three months to implement measures against terrorist content. GNET research indicates pro-IS material remains "fairly prevalent" and "preponderant" on the platform.
Researchers identified 207 pins containing explicit pro-IS propaganda during a single day of monitoring.
The report recommends Pinterest implement automated tools to detect extremist content. These tools should focus on Arabic-language material.
