Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 "for Galaxy" processor will exclusively power the entire Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 lineup globally. This confirmation ends speculation regarding the use of Samsung’s in-house Exynos chips for the flagship series. Samsung scheduled the official launch event for July 22nd.

Samsung will implement a dual-source processor strategy for the more mainstream Galaxy Z Flip 8. This model will feature the Exynos 2600 processor in European and Korean markets. Units sold in the United States and China will utilize Qualcomm Snapdragon chips.

The agreement maintains Qualcomm’s position as the sole chipset provider for Samsung’s most valuable foldable devices.
