Roblox will begin the global rollout of its mandatory facial age verification system in January 2026. This system applies to all users accessing chat features.
The policy, first announced in late 2025, requires users to undergo Facial Age Estimation or ID verification. This measure enhances safety and creates age-appropriate experiences on the platform.
Following verification, users will only be able to chat with others in similar age groups. The company designed the initiative to limit interactions between minors and adults, following increased scrutiny and lawsuits regarding child safety on the popular gaming platform.
