Roblox users experienced significant connectivity issues and service disruptions on October 20, 2025, due to a widespread outage of Amazon Web Services (AWS). [4, 10] The problems, which also affected numerous other major online platforms like Fortnite and Snapchat, began in the early morning hours and prevented players from accessing games and other experiences on the platform. [9, 10] Reports indicated that the root of the problem was an operational issue within AWS's US-East-1 region, one of the largest data center hubs for the cloud provider. [4, 11] While Roblox itself did not immediately issue a formal statement, status pages and user reports on sites like Downdetector confirmed the service failures.
