Rheinmetall launched the GMF140, a 140-meter multi-mission guided-missile frigate designed for NATO and allied navies. The vessel weighs 6,000 tonnes and features the Aegis combat system. It includes 64 vertical launch cells for air defense, anti-submarine warfare, and long-range strikes.

The company will initially offer the GMF140 for a North American procurement program before targeting broader international markets. This launch signals a strategic expansion into the high-end naval combatant sector.

Rheinmetall shares rose 2% following the announcement. The company is scheduled to publish its quarterly results on August 6.
