Rocket Lab successfully launched its HASTE rocket for the U.S. Department of War’s Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) on February 27th. The mission, named That’s Not A Knife, lifted off from Virginia at 7:00 p.m. ET (00:00 UTC, Feb 28th).
The rocket deployed the DART AE, a scramjet-powered aircraft developed by Hypersonix. This flight serves to test and advance hypersonic flight technologies.
This event marks the seventh overall HASTE launch. It is the second successful hypersonic test completed for the DIU within a three-month period.
