Rocket Lab successfully supported a hypersonic test mission for the U.S. Department of Defense’s Defense Innovation Unit (DIU). The mission involved the suborbital launch of a scramjet-powered aircraft. This operation represents the second such test for the DIU in three months.
The company also unveiled a new line of advanced silicon solar arrays. These cells are engineered to power large orbital assets, such as space-based data centers and mega-constellations.
These dual developments reflect Rocket Lab’s strategy to expand revenue streams across both launch services and space systems. The company is increasingly positioning itself as a critical hardware supplier for national defense and future space infrastructure.
