Starbucks announced a corporate restructuring plan on May 18, 2026. The company will eliminate approximately 300 corporate positions. Regional support offices in Atlanta, Burbank, Chicago, and Dallas will close.

These actions are part of the Back to Starbucks strategy to streamline the organization. The restructuring aims to achieve $2 billion in cost savings.

Starbucks will redirect investments toward primary coffeehouse operations and international expansion. These layoffs and closures do not affect the retail coffeehouse portfolio.
