ASML has informed Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix that it will raise prices by 10% for components used in its EUV and DUV lithography machines. The increase takes effect in January 2027.
The adjustment covers essential consumables and core components needed for repairs, including optical systems and light sources. Both companies reportedly accepted the new pricing after negotiations.
The increase comes amid surging demand for memory chips and wafer production, driven by the expansion of AI data centers. Higher prices could raise Samsung’s semiconductor manufacturing costs and pressure its margins in the competitive chip market.
Some observers see the move as part of a broader rise in costs across the semiconductor supply chain.
