Samsung Electronics announced a 12.26 trillion won ($9.15 billion) investment plan for its chip operations. Nearly 8 trillion won will go toward expanding memory-chip testing facilities in Vietnam. The first production line is expected to begin operating in late 2027.

The expansion will increase overseas testing capacity for conventional DRAM and NAND flash chips. It will allow Samsung’s South Korean facilities to focus on more advanced, higher-value memory products, including high-bandwidth memory (HBM), as market demand grows.
