Sanofi and Regeneron have expanded their two-decade antibody collaboration, which produced blockbuster drug Dupixent. Sanofi will pay Regeneron $1 billion upfront. The deal includes up to $7 billion in additional milestone payments, bringing its total potential value to $8 billion.
The agreement covers the co-development and co-commercialization of four new long-acting immunology antibodies invented by Regeneron. The companies will share development costs and future global profits equally for these programs. The expansion aims to build on their past success and develop next-generation treatments for immune-mediated diseases as Dupixent approaches patent expiration in 2031.
