Samsung Electronics secured a key supplier role for Nvidia’s next-generation custom high-bandwidth memory, designated as NVHBM. This partnership supports Nvidia’s new AI strategy prioritizing memory speed over layer stacking.

Samsung is developing an eight-layer HBM4E memory version to meet specific Nvidia requirements. The custom product targets a 20% speed increase over initial HBM4E samples. This memory integrates with Nvidia’s proprietary NVLink standard. The deal strengthens Samsung’s position in the competitive advanced AI memory market.
