Sibanye Stillwater appealed a United States International Trade Commission (ITC) ruling on Tuesday. The ITC previously determined that Russian palladium imports do not imminently threaten U.S. production.
Sibanye is the only primary palladium producer in the United States. The South African miner claims the ITC ignored evidence of illegal dumping and subsidization by Russian exporters.
The company argues these trade practices artificially depressed prices for the autocatalyst metal. This appeal continues Sibanye's effort to secure trade protections for the domestic industry.
