Sibanye Stillwater is investing R20 billion ($1.1 billion) into seven South African platinum group metal (PGM) projects. This capital commitment aims to sustain the company's production levels through 2050.
The company is proceeding with the investment despite current weakness in PGM prices. A primary component is the Marikana mine's K4 shaft, which targets steady-state production by 2033.
This initiative follows a separate agreement with Glencore to increase chrome output by 75%.
