Toyota Kirloskar Motor launched its first all-electric SUV for the Indian market, the Urban Cruiser Ebella. This marks the company's entry into India's competitive battery electric vehicle (BEV) space.

The vehicle utilizes a Suzuki platform, stemming from the global alliance between the two automakers. Bookings for the new EV opened on January 20, 2026. Pricing has not yet been announced.

The Urban Cruiser Ebella offers two lithium-iron phosphate battery options: 49 kWh and 61 kWh. The larger variant provides a claimed range of up to 543 km.

This launch supports Toyota's multi-pathway approach to sustainable mobility. The company aims to contribute to carbon neutrality in India. Toyota also offers an 8-year battery warranty and buyback programs.
