Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada (TMMC) will deploy seven Agility Robotics ‘Digit’ humanoid robots at its Woodstock, Ontario, assembly plant starting in April. This initiative follows a successful year-long pilot program. The agreement represents one of the first commercial humanoid robot deployments within the Canadian automotive sector.

The robots will manage logistics tasks, specifically loading and unloading automotive part totes for the RAV4 assembly line. The deployment is structured under a Robots-as-a-Service (RaaS) commercial agreement.

TMMC aims to improve worker safety and operational efficiency by automating physically taxing and repetitive tasks. This shift allows human employees to transition toward higher-value production roles. Toyota and Agility Robotics intend to explore additional industrial use cases for broader humanoid integration.
