Chancellor Kathaleen McCormick of the Delaware Chancery Court is reassigning multiple Elon Musk lawsuits to other judges. McCormick cited disproportionate media attention as a potential threat to the administration of justice.
The reassignment follows a recusal request from Musk’s legal team. Lawyers alleged McCormick showed bias by using a support emoji on a LinkedIn post celebrating a previous legal defeat for Musk.
McCormick denied the allegations and stated she did not intentionally support the post. She characterized the recusal motion as being based on a false premise.
