Tesla CEO Elon Musk warned employees at the Grünheide factory that planned site expansions are at risk.

Musk delivered the video message ahead of the works council elections scheduled for March. The CEO cautioned against the plant falling under external influences, a reference to the German trade union IG Metall.

Musk ruled out a total factory shutdown but stated that further investment is unlikely if the union increases its representation on the council. This stance intensifies the conflict between Tesla management and organized labor regarding the company's European growth strategy.
