Tesla’s Gigafactory Texas workforce declined by 22% in 2025.
Headcount at the Austin facility fell to approximately 16,000 employees by year-end 2025. This figure represents a drop from over 21,000 employees at the end of 2024. Tesla disclosed the data in a compliance filing with Travis County.
The staff reduction followed a 46% drop in Tesla's net income for the year. Electric vehicle sales also experienced a significant slump during the same period. This contraction follows a previous 7% workforce reduction at the facility in 2024.
