Swedish union IF Metall will officially suspend its strike against Tesla on August 19. The industrial action began in October 2023 and became the longest labor dispute in modern Swedish history. The conflict triggered sympathy strikes from multiple unions across the Nordic region.

IF Metall stated that Tesla bought out all remaining striking members. The union claims these buyouts rendered the ongoing industrial action ineffective.

The dispute centered on IF Metall's demand for a collective bargaining agreement. Tesla employs service mechanics in Sweden but does not operate a manufacturing plant there. The carmaker continues to refuse to sign the labor agreement.
