The Swedish Transport Administration (TRV) recommends voting against the EU-wide rollout of Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) software. The agency demands the removal of a feature that allows the system to exceed speed limits.
In an April 30 letter to the EU’s Technical Committee on Motor Vehicles (TCMV), the TRV argued that systematic speeding undermines legal frameworks. The TCMV will discuss the matter on June 30 before a formal vote.
Sweden’s opposition creates a significant hurdle for Tesla’s expansion in the European market. The Swedish Transport Agency has shared these concerns with Tesla and the Dutch regulator RDW, which currently supports the approval.
