Tesla expanded its autonomous ride-hailing service to Miami, Florida. This launch marks the third U.S. state for the program following Texas and California. The company announced the expansion via its official X account.
The service operates within a geofenced area of 10 to 14 square miles. Coverage includes western and central Miami, including the Miami International Airport. Tesla will deploy Model Y vehicles without human safety monitors.
The expansion supports CEO Elon Musk’s focus on artificial intelligence and robotics. Tesla now competes directly with Alphabet’s Waymo and Amazon’s Zoox in the Miami market. The rollout follows similar driverless launches in Dallas and Houston.
