Elon Musk announced on X a complete rebuild of his artificial intelligence venture, xAI. The restructuring follows the departure of 10 out of 12 original co-founders. Musk stated the company was not built correctly during its initial phase.
Tesla previously disclosed a $2 billion investment in the startup. This capital converted into a SpaceX stake following the merger of xAI and SpaceX in February.
Musk apologized for past hiring mistakes and is re-engaging previously overlooked candidates. Personnel from Tesla and SpaceX are currently auditing the company to support the transition.
