Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. is significantly expanding its 3nm process output to 160,000 wafers per month to satisfy exploding demand from Nvidia for its AI chips. This production ramp-up is reportedly driven by Nvidia's current Blackwell chips and its next-generation 'Rubin' platform. In response to the strong, AI-fueled orders, TSMC has raised its 2025 revenue growth forecast to the mid-30% range and increased its planned capital spending. The surge in demand was publicly highlighted by Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, who, while attending TSMC's annual sports day, stated he has asked for more chip supplies due to business growing "stronger and stronger." The move solidifies the 3nm node's position as a primary revenue driver for the chipmaker, with reports noting that Nvidia has surpassed Apple as the main driver for this advanced technology.
