Taiwanese prosecutors have launched an investigation into former TSMC Senior Vice President, Lo Wei-jen, over allegations of stealing trade secrets. Lo is accused of taking confidential documents related to TSMC's future 2-nanometer, A16, and A14 process technologies before retiring in July and subsequently joining competitor Intel in October. The investigation was reportedly triggered after Lo took an unusually large volume of materials upon his departure, raising internal suspicions. TSMC is said to be collecting evidence for potential legal action. The case has attracted high-level attention, with Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs looking into whether the alleged actions violated the National Security Act, given the strategic importance of semiconductor technology to Taiwan.
