TSMC raised its 2026 capital expenditure budget to a range of $60 billion to $64 billion. This represents an increase from the previous forecast of $52 billion to $56 billion. The company cited stronger-than-expected structural demand for AI and high-performance computing.

Leading-edge process technologies will receive 70% to 80% of the allocated spending. TSMC is accelerating capacity expansion for its 2nm process to meet robust demand. Mass production for 2nm technology is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2026.

The company is currently ramping up production across five fabs in Taiwan. Revised forecasts are supported by long-term customer commitments.
