Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) will increase chip production prices by 5% to 10% in 2027. The price adjustments apply to both advanced and mature semiconductor manufacturing processes.

The company concluded client negotiations in July. These discussions originally began in June.

Management attributed the hike to rising material costs and supply chain stress. A TSMC spokesperson stated the pricing strategy is strategic rather than opportunistic.

The decision affects many of the world's largest technology companies. This move may increase the future retail cost of consumer electronics.
